The Chargers (8-4) closed out their Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division baseball regular season on Friday with a 8-3 win over the Waipahu Marauders (1-11) at Waipahu High School..
Kulia Neal got the start for the Chargers pitching 2.0 innings allowing no runs on no hits with no strikeouts and 2 walks
Caleb Young earned the win in relief, pitching 5.0 innings while allowing 3 runs on 4 hits with 3 strikeouts and four walks.
Makana Quia got the start for the Marauders pitching 1.0 innings while allowing 1 run on 1 hit with no strikeouts and 2 walks.
Seth Garcia took the loss in 6.0 innings of work for the Marauders. Garcia allowed 7 runs on 11 hits with 1 strikeout s and 4 walks.
The Chargers pounded out 12 hits in the ball game led by Caleb Young who had a great day at the plate hitting 3-3 with a double and 4 RBI. Carter Hirano went 2-4 with a double, RBI, and run scored. Diilin Hasegawa 2-4.
The Chargers earned a bye in next week’s OIA Championship Tournament as the West #2 seed and will play the winner of next Wednesday’s first round match -up between East #3 seed Moanalua vs. West #6 seed Kapolei on Thursday, April 19 in the quarterfinals at Pearl City High School
