Pearl City High School students joined thousands of students across America in a national walk out today to bring awareness of gun violence in our schools.
The Pearl City High School student body walked out of their classrooms across the PCHS campus this morning at 10:00am and assembled in the school gymnasium. They were met by PCHS administrators, faculty and staff, along with special guest Governor David Ige for a moment of silence in honor and respect for the seventeen Florida, Stoneman Douglas High School students and teachers who lost their lives on February 14, 2018 after being gunned down by a former student.
Governor Ige, who is a PCHS '75 graduate, received a warm welcome from the students. He spoke to them about the issue of gun violence and the efforts being made to keep students safe in Hawaii schools.

Wednesday's national walk out lasted seventeen minutes in honor of those who lost their lives.
