Campbell kept their sights on capturing a division title and a perfect regular season record after beating Pearl City 5-3 on Saturday in Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division I varsity baseball played at Pearl City High School. The win improved the Sabers to a perfect 10-0 in league play while the Chargers slipped below .500 at 4-6.
Campbell ace Jamin Kalaola picked up the win in six innings of work for the Sabers. Kalaola allowed one run on five hits with three strikeouts.
Carson Okada took the loss for the Chargers. Okada pitched 6 2/3 innings allowing five runs on ten hits with four strikeouts and three walks. Dillin Hasegawa entered the game in in the top of the seventh in relief of Okada with the bases loaded, two outs, and the Sabers leading 5-1. Hasegawa struck out the first batter he faced to escape to bottom of the seventh.
The Chargers made a run at the Sabers lead in the bottom of the seventh rallying for two runs, but came up short.to go down 5-3.
Both Pearl City and Campbell will finish out the regular season this week.
Campbell will play Mililani on April 4 at Central Oahu Regional Park and will host Leilehua on April 7.
Pearl City will finish the regular season on the road at Mililani on April 4 and at Aiea on April 7.

Justin Fernandez put the Sabers up 2-0 over the Chargers after
hitting an RBI double that scored Ikaika Ganancial in the top of
the fifth inning. The Sabers scored two runs in the fifth to take a 3-0
lead. Fernandez batted 1-3 with a double, RBI, and run scored.

Cade Halemanu got the Chargers on the scoreboard in the bottom of the sixth inning with
a sac-fly that scored Christian Onomura. Halemanu batted 1-3 with a double and a RBI.

Ikaika Ganancial stroked an RBI single that scored Shane Shimizu
in the top of the seventh inning that put the Sabers up 4-1. Campbell
scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to go up 5-1 heading to the
bottom of the seventh. Ganancial batted 2-3 with a RBI for the Sabers.
