The Pearl City Lady Chargers are marching their way to an OIA Division I Sotball Champkonship after defeating East #1 seed and previously undefeated Kaiser 8-0 on Thursday in the championship tournament quarterfinals played at Kaiser High School.
Pearl City ace Tyanna Kaaialii tossed her second no-hitter of the tournament striking out fourteen Lady Cougar batters with two walks in seven complete innings for the Lady Chargers. What made Kaaialii's win even more impressive is that she totally shut down the OIA Eastern Division undefeated champion Kaiser Lady Cougars. A no-hitter and fourteen strikeouts, that's what legends are made of, especially in OIA championship tournament play.
Seli Aholelei went the distance for the Lady Cougars allowing eight runs, nine hits with two strikeouts and four walks in seven complete innings.
Our Pearl City Lady Chargers are on a roll after defeating the Kaiser Lady Cougars on Thursday 8-0 to advance to the OIA Division I Softball Semifinals on Friday.
The Lady Chargers will face W2 Mililani at 7:00pm in the second game of the semifinal doubleheader at McKinley High School. Mililani defeated Roosevelt 10-0 to advance to the semifinals.
W1 Campbell and Kapolei will meet in the first semifinal game at 5:00pm. Campbell defeated Leilehua 13-3 and Kapolei beat Kailua 14-2.
