I'm happy to report that the overgrown grass and bushes on Waimano Home Road, mauka bound, from Komo Mai Drive to Hookiekie Street near Pearl City High School has been cleared. I received an email response from Councilman Brandon Elefante's Legislative Aid, Dion Mesta late last week informing me that a Request for Investigation and Service Report (RISR) has been submitted for my concern regarding Waimano Home Road and Hookiekie Street near Pearl City High School. I checked out the area on Waimano Home Road last night and it was all cleaned up. I also took a few photos this morning and posted them below so you can see the before and after snapshots. They were taken near the Waimano Home Road and Hoolaulea Street Intersection.
Thank you guys for being on top of this issue. It became a safety issue for pedestrians as the grass grew tall and over the sidewalk forcing pedestrians to actually walk on the road in certain sections while navigating up and down Waimano Home Road.
With speeding motorist becoming more and more of a problem on Waimano Home Road, and pedestrians walking on the roadway (many of them students walking to and from Pearl City High School), the neglected landscaping put the public's safety in jeopardy.
Power To The People!
Once again, you all made the difference and proved that your voice truly counts. That's what it takes to continue to live in a great community such as Pearl City.
Mahalo to the city & county work crews who cleared the way!
Thanks Guys! Have a great week!
