Community service volunteers from the Rotary Club of Pearlridge have a busy schedule this week presenting free dictionaries to Aiea and Pearl City third grade students and their teachers.
The Pearlridge Rotarians kicked off the week on Monday, October 13 with a stop at Manana Elementary School. Free dictionaries were given to 71 Manana Elementary third graders and their teachers in a 12:30pm special presentation assembly held in the school cafeteria.
Pearlridge Rotarians will also make dictionary presentations at Gus Webling Elementary in Aiea and Pearl City Highlands Elementary on Thursday, October 16. The Rotarians finish out the week with a visit to Alvah Scott Elementary in Aiea on Friday, October 17.
The dictionaries are donated each year by the Rotary Club of Pearlridge as a part of Rotary International's Annual Dictionary 5000 Project. Aiea and Pearl City third graders and their teachers representing 12 schools will receive over 800 dictionaries during the 2014-2015 school year.
