Mililani over Pearl City 5-3 in OIA Red West Baseball

Pearl City's struggles in the win column continued on Saturday after losing on the road to Mililani 5-3. The Chargers suffered their fourth loss in row and now sit in sixth place with a record of 3-6 in the Oahu Interscholastic Association Red Western Division. Mililani comes is in fourth place in league play with a record of 4-5.

Mililani starting pitcher Cole Nakachi earned the win for the Trojans pitching six complete innings while allowing one run on four hits with four strikeouts and one walk.

Micah Chinen pitched one inning in relief for the Trojans allowing two runs on two hits with three strikeouts and a walk.

Trestan Nakamura took the loss for the Pearl City pitching 4 1/3 innings allowing four runs on eight hits with three strikeouts.

Tyler Kushima pitched 1 2/3 innings in relief for the Chargers allowing one run run on two hits with one strikeout.

Justice Nakagawa and Jarrin Morikawa both homered for Mililani. Jensen Kim went 3-3 with an RBI.

Pearl City's Ansin Mostales batted 1-1 with a triple, RBI, and a run scored. Tyler Tokunaga went 1-3 with an RBI. Davin Kapuras went 2-2 with and RBI, walk and a stolen base.

Pearl City will host Waipahu on Wednesday, April 9 at Pearl City High School. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30pm.

Pearl City's Tanner Tokunaga drives in Ansin Mostales from third base in the top of the

seventh inning.  The Chargers closed within two runs at  5-3 with Tokunaga's RBI single.
