Pearl City Charger Pride was riding high last at night at the 2013 Oahu Interscholastic Association Awards Banquet held at the Ala Moana Hotel. The Charger athletics program represented an impressive four out of nine HHSAA State Championships won by OIA schools in 2012-2013.
The Chargers also won eight OIA Championships and nine OIA Divisional Winners.
Pearl City High School administrators who joined Chargers athletics director Reid Shigemasa at the OIA Awards Banquet to celebrate the accomplishments of the Chargers during the 2012-2013 school year were Principal Ms. Carlyn Fujimoto, Vice Principal Aaron Tominaga, Vice Principal Kyle Miyashiro, Vice Principal Joseph Halfmann as well as special guests, State Senator David Ige and State Representative Gregg Takayama.
Mahalo to Principal Fujimoto and AD Shigemasa for the opportunity to attend and experience "Charger Pride" and "Excellence with Honor" as the athletics program celebrated an historic moment since becoming a charter member of the Oahu Interscholastic Association in 1972.
