Rotary Club of Pearlridge members made special visits last week to five elementary schools in Pearl City and Aiea to present the clubs "Outstanding Citizen Awards" to deserving third graders (one boy and one girl) that best exemplified Rotary International's "Service Above Self" and the Principles of the "Four Way Test". The students received a $50.00 check from the Rotary Club of Pearlridge after being chosen by their third grade teachers.
Four Way Test
1. Is it the truth;
2. Is it fair to all concerned,
3. Will it bring good will and better friendships
4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned.
The awards were given as a part of the Rotary International Dictionary 5000 Project. A total of 323 students and 15 teachers received free dictionaries from the Rotary Club of Pearlridge in March of this year.
Each dictionary included the "Four Way Test" which was attached to the inside cover for the third grade students to follow.
