Kaiser shut down Pearl City 2-0 last night during the second of two semifinal showdowns in the OIA Red Division Girls Varsity Soccer Championship Tournament played at Kaiser High School.
Kaiser's Jaylin Swartz and Noelle Mercado scored one goal each for the Lady Cougars. Kaiser goalie Corina Edgington put up a wall while defending the Lady Cougars goal turning back all seven shots on goal by the Lady Chargers.
The Kaiser semifinal win over Pearl City sets up tonight's 7:00pm championship match-up between OIA Red East Champion Kaiser (11-0-1) and OIA Red West Champion Mililani (11-0-1) who defeated Moanalua 1-0 after 2OT's and a penalty kick shoot out.
The OIA Red Division Championship will follow the OIA White Division Championship game between Nanakuli and Radford which is scheduled for 5:30pm at Kaiser High School.
Both championship games will be broadcast on Oceanic Cables O-16.
Pearl City (7-1-4) and Moanalua (10-2-0) will play for third place today at Kailua High School at 5:30pm.
Kahuku (7-3-3) will meet Waianae (8-4-1) for fifth place at 4:00pm at Kailua High School.
