UPDATE: Chad Owens, Toronto Argonauts win CFL 100th Grey Cup Championship

MyPearl City.com congratulates Chad Owens and the Toronto Argonauts who captured the Canadian Football League's 100th Grey Cup on Sunday, November 25, 2012 with a 35-22 win over the Calgary Stampeders at Rogers Centre in Toronto.

Owens scored the games first touchdown on a five yard touchdown reception in the first quarter. He also finished with 109 total yards.

Chad Owens was awarded the Canadian Football League's top honor on Thursday as the most outstanding player for the 2012 season. The Pearl City resident and former University of Hawaii Warrior, will lead his Toronto Argonauts against the Calgary Stampeders in this Sunday's Grey Cup to be played at Rogers Centre in Toronto.

Owens had an outstanding season as a receiver leading the CFL with 1,328 yards on 94 catches and 6 touchdowns, and also led the league in return yardage with 2510 and set a league record with 3,863 all-purpose yards.

In 2011, Owens was named the CFL’s most outstanding special team’s player and also led the CFL in five special team’s categories and tied for the league lead with four kick off returns for touchdowns.
