Today, on Memorial Day, we remember the men and women of the armed forces who served their country with honor and bravery so that we may live as free Americans. Our freedom is secured by their call to duty and willingness to pay the ultimate sacrifice if called upon to do so.
We continue to pray for our military personnel around the world who are in harms way as they continue to fight the battle against global terrorism while shielding us from the destructive consequences of war.
MyPearlCity.com would like to say mahalo and also recognize our Hawaii Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts who represent the Aloha Council – Boy Scouts of America. Each year, on the day before Memorial Day, the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts, along with visiting Boy Scouts of America Troops, place over ten-thousand American flags and flower lei on the graves of our fallen American Military heroes at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl.
Their volunteer efforts bring honor, respect, and a shine to each of the grave sites and is immediately appreciated by all who enter through the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific gates during the Memorial Day weekend.
Have a great and safe Memorial Day!
