The Aiea Na Ali'i earned a hard fought, come from behind, 7-5 win on the road on Wednesday against the previously unbeaten and #6 ranked Pearl City Chargers.
The Na Ali'i improved their record to 4-2 in the tightly contested OIA Red Western Division while the league leading Chargers sit at 4-1. Wednesday's match up was played as a make up game due to the earlier scheduled March 3rd game that was postponed due to rain.
Kaulana Wong picked up the win for the Na Ali'i in seven complete innings. Tyler Tokunaga took the loss for the Chargers.
Wong also led the Na Ali'i at the plate hitting 2-3 with a HR. Tanner Tokunaga led the Chargers hitting 2-4.
The Na Ali'i scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to go ahead of the Chargers 7-5.
Pearl City had an opportunity to win it in the bottom of the seventh inning, but with bases loaded Wong struck out Tyler Tokunaga to end the game.
Pearl City returns to action on the road on Saturday, March 24 in a double header against Waianae. First pitch for game one is scheduled for 11:00am.
