Message from the Editor: Fallen Pearl City Warrior

MyPearlCity.com would like to send our condolences to the family of Hawaii National Guard soldier, Pfc. Raymond N. Pacleb,31, a Pearl City resident who died in Iraq on Monday, March 29, 2010. Pacleb died in Baghdad in a noncombat incident which is currently under investigation.

Pacleb was with the Virginia Army National Guard's 229th Military Police Company in Baghdad at the time of his death. He volunteered to deploy and served as a unit supply specialist. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 487th Field Artillery, 29th Infantry Brigade Combat Team. Pacleb joined the Hawaii National Guard in 2009.

Pfc. Raymond N. Pacleb is a graduate of Pearl City High School's class of 1996.

The family issued the following written statement, "Raymond will be missed very much and the Pacleb family knows the he is in a better place. We are very proud of our son's service to his country and look up to him as a hero."
